“They rape our daughters; they burn down our houses”: Woman who escaped from Baga speaks to the BBC

bAGA2
This month, Boko Haram staged what has been described as one of its deadlieast ever attacks in Baga town, Borno state, after militants from the terrorist group had successfully dislodged soldiers from the military base located in the town.
One woman who escaped from Baga recently spoke to the BBC on the state of things in the town at the moment.

She lamented over the fact that ”presently Boko Haram members of Baga origin have taken control of young women in Baga as the town is left in their hands. They rape and abuse our daughters. They destroy shops and burn down our houses. I saw all this when I was in Baga, they don’t allow the young women to move an inch from where they are.”
Speaking further she said: “I spent one week at the palace of the traditional ruler and no school was open… they also took over the army hospital in Mile 4, the government general hospital and the missionary hospital. They carted away all the goods in the market and destroyed it.”

You can listen to the entire audio by visiting the BBC.
