With its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, firmly ahead of
President Goodluck Jonathan based on released results, the All
Progressives Congress, APC, all but certain of victory, has already
rolled out the carpets set for celebrations.
At the party’s Abuja office, red carpet has been rolled and a stage
set for what an official of the party said will be a “Thank You” speech
by Mr. Buhari as soon as the final result of Saturday’s election is
announced.
Mr. Buhari currently leads Mr. Jonathan by nearly 3 million votes,
with results from only two states states yet to be tallied by the
Independent National Electoral Commission.
Many leaders of the APC arrived the party’s secretariat in anticipation of the victory celebration late Tuesday.
A PREMIUM TIMES’ correspondent has sighted the Director General of
the party’s campaign, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, the Speaker of the House
of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and former Ekiti Governor, Kayode
Fayemi at the office.
Others at the venue were former PDP chairman, Audu Ogbeh, Senators
Bukola Saraki, Danjuma Goje, Ibrahim Gaya, newly-elected Senator, Dino
Melaye.
Mr. Amaechi, in a brief chat with newsmen, said the party “would be magnanimous in victory”.
