The Presidency has said that President Goodluck Jonathan is praying
for the success of the incoming administration of General Muhammadu
Buhari. According to Reuben Abati, the president’s spokesman, the president is praying for Buhari to achieve.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Abati also said that the
FG is not abandoning any of its ongoing projects simply because the
president lost out in his bid to get re-elected.
He released a short video from the project site of the ongoing Second
Niger Bridge to buttress the point that work is still ongoing and has
not been deserted.
He thanked Nigerians for giving Pres. Jonathan the opportunity to serve them as president.
“From Lagos-Ibadan Road to Abuja-Kaduna Railways and Kashimbilla Dam,
both which are set for commissioning. We are still working for you.
President Jonathan prays for the incoming administration led by General
Buhari to achieve even as we hope that this transformation continues. We
thank you for letting us serve you!” he said.
Abati quoted the president as assuring the nation that “service and
necessary sacrifices will be his (Jonathan’s) lifelong commitment to
Nigeria in whatever capacity”.
