The
South East branch of the All Progressives Congress has congratulated
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari for raising Nigeria’s profile through his Thursday
speech at Chatham House, in the United Kingdom.
Speaking at the
Buhari Campaign office in Enugu yesterday, Mr Osita Okechukwu, Spokesman
of South East All Progressives Congress (APC) congratulated General
Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) for repackaging Nigeria as evident by his
excellent speech at the Royal Institute of International Affairs,
Chatham House London.
‘Whereas we agree with the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) that the script is well written, and the script
well delivered; however we cannot locate lies the ruling party referred
to on the truism that, ‘our economy has grown at an average of 7% for
about a decade. But it is more of paper growth, a growth that, on
account of mismanagement, profligacy and corruption, has not translated
to human development or shared prosperity…………The answers to these
questions in Nigeria show that the current administration has created
two economies in one country, a few who have so much in their tiny
island of prosperity and the other economy for the many who have so
little in their vast ocean of misery.”
GMB’s
submission that, ‘On corruption, there will be no confusion as to where
I stand. Corruption will have no place and the corrupt will not be
appointed into my administration,” has given the nation a fresh hope.
‘It
is a master stroke and excellent diplomatic shuttle overseas, which no
doubt is repositioning and rebuilding the image of our dear country,
which nosedived as result of clueless and corrupt leadership.’ Mr
Okechukwu said.
Mr Okechukwu said that GMB’s diplomatic shuttle is
immensely conveying clearly the message of change which” our great
party espouses and reassuring the international community that Nigeria’s
democracy is on course and will soon witness regime change.
‘South
East APC salutes GMB for repackaging Nigeria’s image as exemplified by
his dignity of carriage and candour in advancing the fine details of the
state of affairs in Nigeria,” he submitted.
