The
Senate has summoned the chairman of the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega. Jega is to appear before the upper
chamber to explain reasons behind the postponement of the general
elections.
The INEC boss had earlier told the country that he was
postponing the election because of the advise given to him by the
service chiefs that security could not be guaranteed, but the senate has
decided to invite him for further interrogation.
Jega is also expected to show the senators how the card reader will be used during the elections.
