Buhari’s campaign organisation responds to endorsements

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) has acknowledged the series of endorsements which its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, have been getting. It said that the endorsements are a mark of upswing in victory for the APC in the March 28 presidential election.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the APCPCO, Malam Garba Shehu in a press statement on Saturday, February 14 said the endorsements from a section of Christian leaders from the north, that of former president Olusegun Obasanjo and frontline industrialist, Festus Odimegwu, are clear indications that Nigerians from all walks of life have accepted the message of change which the APC promotes.

The statement noted that the APCPCO accepts these endorsements with a sense of humility, adding “It is not in doubt that Nigeria is at a threshold of history. The desire for change in Nigeria is multi-religious, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and, has now clearly shown, pro-business.”

According to Shehu, “The strides of endorsements coming for General Muhammadu Buhari are a clear indication that Nigerians are widely receptive to the message of change which the APC promotes.

“We are indeed very humbled by these endorsements. And we are more than confident that the APC will coast to clear victory in the March 28 presidential election.
“The election could have held today, but in spite of the postponement to March 28 and with many more Nigerians coming on board the train of change, we know that we have the highest number of Nigerians behind us.
“As the Election Day inches closer, more and more Nigerians who probably hitherto were sitting on the fence are now boldly coming out to identify with our candidate.
“We are particularly inspired by the endorsement from Festus Odimegwu who is a frontline industrialist and administrator. His glowing tribute to the character trait of General Buhari is an incontrovertible testimonial to the pro-business attribute of our presidential candidate.
“We need to restate that our campaign is not about witch-hunt. Our campaign is driven by the uncompromising fervour to nip corruption in the bud, provide jobs for our teeming youths and build a virile economy, securing the lives and property of Nigerians, creating a level playing ground for business owners and expanding the frontiers of prosperity in the country.”
